Date of Meeting: Sunday 1st July 2012, 11am until 3-30pm
(Click here for map of location)
Kineton Village Hall, Mill Street, Kineton, WARWICK, CV35 0LB
Why attend?
It has been 2 years since we held our last meeting and during that period
much reliance has been made on Shoosmiths taking forward legal action. Most
of you will know where your position stands with regard to this, but there
have been many comments made, that as a group, we should try and move the
issue on through other channels as well. In particular raising the public
profile in order to give leverage to the MP’s supporting us, and a key
area of discussion at the meeting will be how we can best achieve this.
As ever, there will be an opportunity to meet with others, a lot of new people
have joined with us since the previous meetings, and those who have attended in
the past will remember the benefit of meeting with others who have or are being
subjected to the tyranny of POL.
Regarding the media at the meeting – unless the consensus is that they should be
invited, it has been suggested that we should exclude them all. Quite simply
we do not have that much time together and if anyone from the media wants to
discuss issues further, it could take place another day. Also, and probably
most importantly, over the last few years we have got to know many people in
the media and it would be very hard to say yes to one and no to another, it’s
easier to say no to everyone. It may even encourage those who have not been
prepared to speak to the media and those who are fighting POL without Shoosmiths
to attend, knowing that it will be only other victims at the meeting.
Closer to the day of the meeting an update will be circulated by email with further information.
