A Blairing Mistake?
Origins of a Disaster by Eleanor Shaikh
After many months of detailed research, long-time supporter of the Subpostmaster campaign, Eleanor Shaikh, has very kindly allowed her recently completed report into the early history of how Post Office's flawed Horizon computer system came into existence to be made available from the JFSA website.
At almost 600 pages, 'Origins of a Disaster' gives an in depth analysis of the discussions and decisions taken from 1998-2000, heavily referencing Government documents, naming all those involved and the 'hands on' approach adopted by the Prime Minister Tony Blair at the time the final decision to proceed was taken.
Eleanor has also produced a six page summary of her report which she has made available.

Resources
The JFSA website came into existence late 2009 as means of raising the profile of the plight Subpostmasters were having with Post Office and to become a point of contact and offer some early advice to those being pursued by Post Office.
Much of what will be found here is of historic value and has been superseded by events. Nowadays there are many other and more current sources available, however the website has really achieved its aim of bringing victims together and acting as a catalyst for the issue to be dealt with at the highest levels.
The issue has moved on from 30 ex Subpostmasters first meeting in a village hall in Fenny Compton one Sunday in November 2009 and has now exposed the biggest miscarriage of justice in British legal history and in the next year or two, is set to expose a major cover by HMG and Post Office.
March 2022 update
The recent increase in media coverage of the plight and suffering of many victims of Post Office and the coverage on the Inquiry YouTube channel has resulted in the JFSA hearing from many other ex Subpostmaster victims who had not been aware of the court actions against Post Office.
Many are wanting to know what can they do about the suffering they had experienced at the hands of Post Office and how can they too can recover what they are owed. Unfortunately I have had to inform everyone that, despite all the complaints we are hearing from those who had applied, the Schemes that had been set up are now closed to new applications.
If you have suffered at the hands of Post Office and not been involved with any of the Schemes or court cases, having only just found out about the scandal, our advice is to take the matter up with your MP. Many MPs already will have constituents who are seeking financial redress, and nearly all MPs will know about the Post Office scandal. You can find out details of your MP here.
Unfortunately the JFSA is run on a voluntary basis and we are unable to assist further, but if enough MPs hear from new victims, I feel sure that something will have to happen to support you.

K Brown - At the request of one of the victims group, correspondence from their MP and the reply received has been made available to offer an example of many similar dismissive replies MPs have been receiving that deliberately ignores the £46m the victims had to pay to expose POL & government's failings.
